Cruising College Fjord Glaciers & Scenic Prince William Sound
Today, we navigated to College Fjord, Prince William Sound, and Gulf of Alaska.

It was a quiet morning and Volendam was the only ship in the tranquility of College Fjord. Ripples radiated from the ship as it slowly advanced through the icy waters toward the face of the crystal blue glaciers. Volendam slowed down at the faces College Fjord Glaciers. Crackling of glacier calving was heard.

A little bit of sunray passed through the clouds. Three harbor seals were spotted on a floating piece of ice that fell off the glaciers.

Making its way out of the narrow fjord, Volendam sailed pass Cape Hinchinbrook into Prince William Sound. We spotted some otters, Stella sea lions, many types of sea birds, but no whales!

In the afternoon, Michele and I enjoyed the Royal Dutch High Tea as Volendam continued sailing in the Gulf of Alaska, while Sonya and Ethan had great fun at the HAL Club.

In the evening, we watched the show “Gold” before going for the first formal dining at the Rotterdam … and we were treated with the yummy Alaska King Crab!
